Making love. How can people make something that so few know what real love is?

"Making love," a term often misused. How can one make something they are not in? Many say they are in love...but are they really?

Love is unconditional and often eludes humans because to be true unconditionally loving is divine. It is possible to be in unconditional love, once we realize we ARE unconditional love, and others are one with you. We have the opportunity to love everyone unconditionally once we embody this truth.

It takes courage to see through the cleansed eyes of love for we have been programmed to numb ourselves with conditions. It is often easier for people to fly aimlessly with surface love and infatuation, for it eases the pain of separation.

To reconnect, we must re remember our full potential, and be that unconditional love we already are. True courage is to express unconditionally, even in a planet where few know or care to be it. Love anyway, for you are being authentic to our souls' true calling. Make love to the unconditional reality of your divine existence.

View Spirituality with Humour

There is often a misconception when it comes to 'spirituality'.

Spirituality is often viewed as serious, all "kumbaya my lord", or just go and hug a tree. It's much more than mere words, it's more than fluff, and it is does not have to be strict and confining.

When we place 'shoulds' and "shouldn'ts" to spirituality, it creates more belief systems and boxes, thus creating the opposite effect of what true spirituality does. Sprirtuality frees the mind and frees the soul!! It is a state of just being.

A huge part of that beingness is laughter.

Embrace your inner child, don't take you or your life so seriously!

We are here to play.

Laugh a whole lot!

Just be.

Lessons from Nature

I was sitting and listening to the beautiful sounds of nature, paying close attention to the individual notes that the birds sang, within their marvellous orchestra of songs. I was listening to all the different notes and tones, each with their own unique sound. I then concentrated on one particular bird. I used all my senses to perceive the sounds. I went beyond the sense of hearing to the point where I could almost taste his melody. I became one with this magnificent being. I felt a deep connection between myself and this tiny messenger. I then understood the nature lesson that my new winged friend brought to me: a message of oneness. I felt a deep connection to all of nature and then was reminded of the oneness of us all, all creatures big and small. I had previous understood this in theory, and I have felt this truth before however, this time I felt as if I became the birds song. I felt his chirp deep within my soul, resonating and vibrating throughout my whole being. I thanked my dear friend for reminding me of a universal truth that sometimes is muted by our minds loud chirping.

I then continued to listen to the music of the birds and observed three birds. They appeared to be getting upset with one another, chirping loudly almost angrily, pecking at one another. One bird flew away, while one of the other birds followed him. The bird that originally flew away then went to another tree, appearing to want to be alone. I then was reminded that sometimes we just want to be alone. Others may want to sing their song with us, but sometimes we just want to momentarily sing our solo. I was reminded of another lesson through nature. I saw the beauty of respecting someone the space to sing their solo, until they are ready to return to the duet and to the orchestra at large.

When I was listening to the individual sounds of the birds, I could hear the different tones, and it reminded me of another lesson: that we all have our own unique tone, in the beautiful orchestra of life. We all, like these individual bird tones, have our own story to tell. Question is, when was the last time you truly listened to an individual’s story/song, free of judgements, allowing the others magnificent song to be heard, completely free of your own perceptions and internal noise? If you haven’t done so, I encourage you to practise this exercise. Provide them the opportunity to just be and you will see the beauty and mystery in their melody.

I continued to sit in the honour of being in the moment, when I was greeted by yet another nature friend. A gorgeous butterfly flew by and sat right beside me, presenting me with the gift of their presence. I was in awe by its beauty, and I was taking in all of the amazing colours of its wings. I watched its wings flicker quickly. I then became overwhelmed with the experience, and I began to weep. At first, I allowed the tears to flow and did not judge nor question the reasoning behind the sudden out pour of emotion. I allowed myself to just be and feel, and release these emotions. I then decided to observe, without judgement, the source behind the tears, and what I found was yet another lesson from nature. I felt universal love for and from this beautiful creature. I felt, once again, the love that exists through the connection of us all. I continued to weep, feeling the intensity of this beautiful love. As I sat there in silence, my eyes remained fixated on the butterfly. I noticed that his wings were no longer flicking quickly. They had slowed down to an almost still state. I intuitively felt and understood that the butterfly was listening and observing me sobbing. He remained almost completely still until my weeping ceased.

Another nature lesson followed. The butterfly reminded me that I too have become a butterfly. I have metamorphosed into a butterfly, when I was once a caterpillar, crawling through life, keeping it low. I then went into a cocoon, to what I thought was protecting myself from the ‘dangers’ of the outside. What I did not understand at the time was that this cocooning was stunting my growth, separating myself from the outside beings. While I was in this cocooned state, I then began to observe the inner states and got to know who I really was. I began to transform.  I then realized the beauty of simply allowing the natural transformation to occur. Once I accepted the inevitable change that came from looking within, I allowed the process to unfold. I embraced the inner change, and then I formed my wings. The visit from this butterfly taught me another nature lesson…that we are both the caterpillar and the butterfly when we accept that inner change provides us the freedom to fly.

I moved my foot and it seemed to startle the butterfly. He flew away and I said, “Oh sorry, don’t go.” I became momentarily saddened by his departure. Then, another nature lesson came to me. Just as this butterfly, sometimes people come into your life for a moment, to provide the opportunity to be reminded of our metamorphic nature. We at times what to grasp on to these messengers. However, as the butterfly, they too have wings and are free to fly as they may. Some come into your life for a sheer moment…to provide to the clarity and unique lesson. Pay attention to what that message is and thank them for coming into your life.

As I was writing this article, another bird came close to me and was chirping quickly and loudly. I stopped writing to listen to his message. I then said out loud, “Hi, How are you? What do you have to tell me?” He instantaneously became silent. I observed him as he turned his head from the left to the right with an almost surprised expression that he was being talked to. As I continued to speak to him, he chirped slowly and quietly, in a fashion that appeared to be responding to me. I then laughed to myself that if someone was watching me talk to the bird, they would have thought I lost my mind. I was then provided another lesson from nature. Even if people say that you are crazy, just be anyway. Follow your heart in the moment and dare to listen to and be guided by your intuition, especially when it steers you away from what is deemed as the ‘norm.’ It is in those moments of perceived madness that births the most magnificent clarity.

I then continued to dialogue with my bird friend. I noticed that when I had stopped speaking to him, he began to chirp loudly and almost angrily. When I started to speak softly and gently to him again, he had gone back to chirping quietly again. Another nature lesson came to me. Sometimes people go around chirping loudly, precievably madly to the wind. Sometimes what they need is someone to hear their song and speak softly to them. I was reminded that everyone wants to be heard, and sometimes it takes just one person to provide them the gift of being heard.

I sat in the sun in absolute awe and gratitude to the beautiful visits and experiences that these beings of nature provided me with. I am grateful for all the lessons they reminded me of. I feel the ever expansive oneness of all growing within me. My prayer for you all is to feel this too. Just stop and listen to the song of nature and watch the synchronicities unfold around you. What do their lessons say to you?...

From my soul to yours to touch you in our true unified brilliance,

Much love,

The Pheonix Has Risen

Try as they might,
with their fright,
they cannot dim my inner light.
On the wings of the Pheonix I have taken flight.
For I am free as a bird now,
and this bird you cannot chain.

Being Seen Authentically

Instead of being I was surviving,
A portion of me I was depriving,
A mask hiding my face,
My soul’s now free, no longer in cased.
I’m looking at you through the two way glass,
While this time has passed,
You don’t see me, nothings been said.
Left with the words inside my head.

So while I’m outside looking in,
You don't know who I am, or where I've been.
It appears you do not know what you see,
For what you are looking away from is me.

Looking past and ahead, with hurt and fear,
Nothing is there, you are right here.
Everything today is agreed upon.
We have the choice to see this moments dawn.

The Consciousness Shift

People are questioning, “how do we make the shift?”
…Observe inner states, go through them and sift.
Let them go, set them adrift.
See this life as a beautiful gift.
This internal work brings outer change to a lift.

Life does not have to be filled with complexities.

Experience it with new found simplicity,
Just being in true authenticity.
Brings about beautiful synchronicities,
Leading one to like minds, it’s so serendipity.
Feel all emotions in depth, then release and clear,
The egos reactions, those that brought a tear.
Live in the present love, not engulfed in the fear.
See it with your third eye, hear it with your internal ear.
Be patient, the new world of love is near.

The Voices of The Ego and The Higher Self

_The inner battle begins, you enter the ring,
The voices have been muffled; all they want is to sing.
One’s been the pauper; one’s been the king,
While one’s been in the ditch, the other on wings.

(The ego speaks),

“You do all this work so you can kill me?
Understand that I assist you to be.
You and I are part of we.
I am still a voice inside of me.

Through times of suffering I assist,
Cause you to defend yourself and resist,
The feelings of pain that persist,
Without me a part of you is missed.

I keep you sheltered, I relish the fear,
I only keep those non-threatening near.
I am the protector, I am the seer.
I wish to be you’re only dear.”

(The higher self speaks),

“I am the unconditional love and light,
The one that provides you with awakened sight.
The loving voice that provides no fight,
The supportive force in your dark soul night.

I am your guiding system during times of need,
The one that provides you with the wisdom seed.
Your inner compass, your personal creed,
Provide you soul food, and wait for you to feed.

I reside in your heart; I am the voice of your soul.
I provide you peace when life takes its toll.
I allow you to be in all your roles.
I am your connection to the unified whole."

The voices have spoken, they have been heard.
The experiences have brought up the emotions stirred,
Seeing it’s all perfect, no need to be cured.
Living in love, allowing both voices their words.

Repression silences the internal noise.
It doesn’t serve to suppress the voice.
Battle it or learn from it, it’s your choice.
Give them thanks, they maintained your poise.

New Agers? Truthers? or Just Being?

In a world where you are used to doing what you’re told.
We are infinite souls, we’ve become the buyers and the sold,
Do you succumb to the herd, or are you bold?
Are you a cookie cutter, or do you break the mold?

Do you hide behind sheets, sleeping thinking you're awake?
While the men behind curtains pull strings, and you take,
What they feed you, not questioning that it is fake,
Burying your head in the sand for your ego's sake?

And do you pay lip service to the words love and light?
While ignoring the truths that are in plain sight,
In order to protect your fear that just might,
Hold onto beliefs, ego grips them so tight?

Or do you become consumed with truths that you hear?
Being angry, judgemental, caught up in the fear,
Letting yourself  be engulfed in all you hold dear,
Viewing systems with panic, thinking the end is near?

And do you question one system while excusing another?
Viewing religion as a belief exempt from all others,
Not seeing that we can love all just like one loves their mother,
Confusing love with attachment, the affection that smothers?

Let's open up to the beauty, the authenticity inside.
Feel the loving caress of the overflowing glide,
The true essence when we see this is just a ride.
See with awakened eyes, let the doubts slide.

Grow Up or Grow Young

It has been said to enter the kingdom, be as little children. Since the kingdom is within, enter your true authentic self. Bring forth your inner child and embody it.

“What do you want to be when you grow up?” This is a common question children are asked. Do we question the ramifications to the children's sense of self due to this question? Do we stop and think what does 'growing up' really mean?

The term ‘growing up’ denotes you grow into something, that what you are now in the present moment is lacking, that you haven’t fully evolved. It gives an unsaciable, never ending view that we must ‘grow’ into something. And what are we ‘growing’ into? “What do you want to be when you grow up” is the same question asked to children as “What do you do?” that is asked to adults. What one will be when they grow up is merely a role, a working role that’s part of living in this 3D world. It is not the real us in our true free spirit nature that is child like. Children are free, and it’s through the programming and social constructing that places this burden and label of ‘growing’ up. Growing up = becoming a drone, a slave like robot to the systems, to the working environment. Children are meant to view ‘growing up’ as something exciting and something to look forward to. They view these working roles with child like wonder, wide eyed anticipation of how absolutely marvellous it would be to be a doctor or teacher. We set up our children to be good little consumers; we do not encourage them to just be. We encourage them to "be someone.” To be someone is to be a role that is not their true identity…a consumer, and be a working ant for the rest of their lives.

Growing up states that we are not magnificently whole from the beginning. It is like we are compartmentalized and incomplete until we become the magic number of a grown up age. To 'be'…, it’s not a matter of ‘who’ do you want to ‘be’ it should be…just being, being in our true authentic state of unconditional love and peace. Life is not viewed so much in the way we grow up; it is more what we grow into. On a grander scale, the whole idea of 'who' further perpetrates the idea of the masks of personality or roles that we masquerade in, misguidedly responding  as if we are the masks that we wear.

The collective societal belief is that we grow old. People then adhere to this belief system, taking on ‘mature’ tasks such as finding a stable career, buying a home, getting married, having children…the whole time we age, than we die. To some people, not only is this ‘expectation’ seem quite boring, it can be downright scary. How cookie cutter are we? Is this our true nature? How about the souls that see beyond these sometimes quite confining ways? What does society say about them? “You need to ‘grow up.’ " There is that term again! Grow into what? Does grow up equate to growing old just like everyone else? No thanks, I chose another way…to grow young. Yes, I just said grow young. What I mean by this term is I grow into youthfulness, re remembering my true authentic self that is child like: innocent, joyous and free. We can do this by bringing out our inner child. Remember those days? (pause break for a sigh of nostalgia) or does it have to be nostalgic? I invite you, all of you, to take your youth back: grow young. Be childlike, love big, wonder big, gain excitement and what ‘grown ups’ see as trivial. Trust me, nothing is trivial. All is wondrous and grand when life is seen through these eyes. Growing young is having fun…being silly, just being! Being you…whatever that means…you in your authentic self, not carrying the heavy masks that we wear like shackles. I mean just being in our authentic free state. Being silly…acting in carefree manner…skipping down the street just because you ‘feel like it', laughing hysterically because it feels good to, playing childlike games with friends because it makes your heart sing. When was the last time you made your heart a melody? I encourage you all to go make a pumping track for that beautiful heart chakra of yours. It has been closed off with grown up expectations for far too long. Sing until you and your heart becomes the song.

There is a line from the song ‘13 Angels’ by Corrosion of Conformity: “Maybe I’m a life time soldier, never die, and never getting older.” We are lifetime soul soldiers, on a quest to awaken to our enlightenment. We never die, for our souls are infinite. We never grow older, for our soul is continuous; there is no age in soul growth. With this being said, we are constantly rejuvenated through reincarnation, we are growing young. Through rebirth, we are born as a baby; we go back to being an infant, back to unlimited possibility. The limitation in our current paradigm is stifling. Career, house, marriage, children then death…does that sound like limitless potentiality to you? For some, this is the ideal and I pass no judgement for those that wish to adhere to these ‘ideals.’ My point is that there is more to life than merely growing into society’s expectations. There are souls that wish to break these social constructs and grow young. We are entering a new shift in consciousness. This shift of consciousness into a new world will break down these barriers that limit the soul. We are born into this contrived world for the last time, for we are returning to our natural loving childlike state. It’s time. Just be.
